Here is a large lidded Buchan stoneware jug in the hand-painted Sutherland pattern. It is ovenproof and was sold as a soup jug with its large pouring lip but could be used for coffee, tea or as a water jug.Marked to the base BUCHAN PORTOBELLO SCOTLAND FINEST STONEWARE 261/70 SUTHERLAND M6-268 OVENPROOF and the painters mark.
